We
count ourselves lucky at Sweet Gifts, on the quality of
our relationships with our Scottish suppliers, and we
need so much flexibility from them that it’s as well
that they share our enthusiasm for the best of the best
of Scotland.
With Finishing Touches, the little chocolate heaven
company that Gary and Heather Green have established in
their family home in the outskirts of Glasgow, our
meeting was pure serendipity. A taste of one of their
distinct creations, a visit to their immaculate
mini-factory, a morning spent wallowing and swallowing
simply the most subtly aromatic, individually created,
lovingly hand-made, chocolate & chocolates we have
ever tasted, and we were hooked.
We shouldn’t have been surprised, of course, because
Heather Green is a chocolatier of wide repute and an
inspired and stylish chef. And, again, single-minded in
pursuit of making only the most fresh, most impeccable,
most memorable chocolates she possibly can.
As we started by saying, there are many good
manufacturers around, we just happened to have found the
Greens of Glasgow, who are capable of putting their
abundant joint personality into each and every chocolate
and wow it shows with every bite! Glaswegian
chocolatiers: sounds oxymoronic, until that first bite. |
